Facebook has announced today that it will be introducing additional comment moderation tools and controls to help creators better moderate conversations on the social network. Creators can now search for comments on their posts using keywords, emojis, commenter names, and dates, and then like or hide those comments en masse. The Comments Manager section of the Facebook Business Center will be where you’ll find these brand new tools. On this, Safer Internet Day, Facebook claims it is announcing the new feature.
The Activity Log for Moderation Assist on the Meta-owned social network is also being rolled out. For context, Moderation Assist is a tool that automatically approves or disapproves new comments based on criteria that content creators establish. As a result of this update, authors will be able to view data like the total number of hidden comments within the last 30 days.
The inline comment preview and criteria tag in the Moderation Assist activity log now allow creators to see whether or not the criteria for hiding comments have been met.
Bobby Marshall, head of Facebook’s creator safety programmes, said in a statement, “Building tools that help keep creators and their communities safe is foundational to Facebook’s creator efforts, and we’ve continued to invest here.” Last year, we launched a Creator Support Hub and increased our Moderation Assist efforts. Creators can now search for comments in a variety of ways, including by keyword, date, emoji, and more, and perform bulk actions on them, like liking or hiding them. Our intention is to free up more time for creators to focus on making content and growing their audience.

According to Meta, this launch is part of the company’s larger mission to assist creators and guarantee that they can engage in their communities in a secure environment. In the previous year, the company rolled out moderation features in professional mode and made its live chat agent support available to a wider range of creators. Meta claims to be concentrating on improving the comment moderation options available to content creators.
